Book Collections
-
The Miami University Library has committed itself to
developing a
doctoral quality collection in English and American literature. As of
1995 its collection in this area consisted of 130,000 books titles and
800 current periodical subscriptions (over 10% of the total collection in
both cases). In addition, the Library has invested heavily in microform
and electronic resources, so that with such collections as Early
English Books Online (also in microfilm) and the English
Poetry
Full-Text Database
it
holds or
provides access to virtually all English publications through 1700, all
North American publications through 1800, significant selections of
poetry, drama, and fiction through 1900, and the
major English and American newspapers and literary periodicals. The
regular collection is augmented by significant printed materials in the
Walter Havighurst Special Collections
Library, and local holdings
are strengthened by the statewide resources accessible through OhioLINK.
