Why Collaborate?
- Libraries are not universally associated with creating web pages.
Librarians may need to wait until asked to participate or seek to include other departments for political reasons.
- Participants from other departments may bring unique areas of expertise.
Other faculty or staff may be skilled in creating graphics, technical writing, programming, or applying web development to specific academic needs.
- Many people are needed to provide follow-up support.
Only a few people may be needed to teach a class. However, a network of many people may be needed to ensure that follow-up assistance is consistently available or to deal with specialized questions that may arise.
